Gainesville – Nationally-ranked Southwest Ranches Archbishop McCarthy continues to lead the way in ThePrepZone.com state baseball poll.

The Mavericks (12-0) are poised to make another run at a seventh state title in the last eight years.

Archbishop McCarthy, the top-ranked team in Class 6A, is the No. 1 overall team in the all-classification rankings.  They defending the nation’s No. 1 ranking at the National High School Invitational in Cary, N.C., with a 3-0 win against Arlington (TN), the top-ranked team in Tennessee.

The Sunshine State is rich in talent and well-represented in the national rankings as Class 9A Nos. 1 & 2, Miami Palmetto & Miami Columbus, who are ranked second and third, respectively, in the all-classification rankings, are in the MaxPreps Top 25 National High School Baseball Rankings.

In fact, every team in the all-classification rankings, except No. 9 Tampa Plant, have been ranked among the top 40 in the country this season.
