The freshman pitched a complete game to lead GHS to a 5-2 win at Bartram Trail (St. Johns) in a match-up of top 10 teams in the Class 7A-Region 1 Quarterfinals.

The Class 7A No. 4 Hurricanes (23-5) jumped out to an early 1-0 lead on the road thanks to Humphrey’s lead-off double in the top of the second inning.  Junior Reaghan Young’s RBI single to center field brought home courtesy runner Sidney Karas for the first run of the game.

In the sixth inning, after giving up a lead-off single and sending the tying run to the on-deck circle, Humphrey proceeded to strike out the next three batters to end the threat.
