GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Niceville Eagles (8-2), 31-14 loss to Bolles (8-2) last week was enough to send them down to the lower tier of the Top 25. The Eagles which are still considered by some to make another run to Orlando, dropped from No. 11 last week to No. 21 heading into the playoffs.

However, the shinning star of the Top 25 belongs to Booker T. Washington. The Tornadoes (10-0) have held the top spot for every single week of the poll including the preseason and are just one final poll away at the conclusion of the state championships in taking the top spot wire-to-wire this season.

Mainland (10-0) finished out a perfect regular season after surviving a close game with Fort Pierce Central, which was expected to be a challenge since the start of the season. The stay put at No. 2. Miami Central (9-1) keeps the No. 3 spot after resting last week for the start of the playoffs.

St. Thomas Aquinas (9-1) and Flanagan (10-0) keep the No. 4 and No. 5 spots respectively after little activity this week that mostly included a 45-7 St. Thomas Aquinas win over Flanagan.

Rounding out the Top 10 include Armwood (10-0) at No. 6, with First Coast (10-0) at No. 7 and followed by Dr. Phillips (10-0) at No. 8, Lakeland (10-0) at No. 9, and East Lake (10-0) at No. 10.

Venice (9-1) fell out of the Top 25 this week for the second time this season after the Indians dropped a 10-0 season finale to rival Manatee (9-1) which is ranked this week at No. 12.

South Sumter (10-0), which has capped another perfect regular season again in back-to-back years reenters the Top 25 at No. 25 this week.
This will be the final poll until the conclusion of the FHSAA Football State Championships in Orlando. The final poll release of the 2014 season will be scheduled for Thursday, December 18th at 12:00 PM EST/11:00 AM CST.

Florida’s HSFB Top 25 is voted on weekly by sportswriters and sportscasters from around the state. Florida’s HSFB Top 25 is the only all-classification poll voted on through out the state during the season by members of the media.

PLEASE NOTE: This will be the final poll until AFTER the state championships have concluded next month. The final poll release is scheduled for Thursday, December 18th at Noon ET/11 AM CT.
