Lafayette is hitting .348 as a team and has a team pitching ERA of 1.95. Leading the way is senior Micah Byrd, who bats a team-best .462 (14 extra-base hits) and is 8-2 on the mound with a 0.91 ERA. Mason Herring (.413, 26 RBIs), Shane Harris (.323, 25 RBIs) and Drew Perry (.379, 10 doubles, 24 RBIs) also provide offensive punch for Lafayette. The visiting Tigers, Class 1A state champions in 2012, are in their first playoff since 2014. Union County is batting .307 as a team and has a team ERA of 1.85. Junior JC Lovelace (.402) has 14 doubles and 33 RBIs while Dalton Teston (26 RBIs), Casey Driggers (.413), Ty Cook (.388) and Stephen Milner (.338, 22 RBIs) also contribute offensively.
