- October 7 is D’Kadrian Allen of the Hawthorne football team. Allen scored the first four touchdowns of the game and rushed for 114 yards – all in the first quarter – as Hawthorne picked up its first win of the season in an 82-0 win at Seacoast Christian (Jacksonville). The senior had TD runs of one, 23 and 32 yards, and he returned a punt 58 yards for a score as the Hornets (1-4) built a 32-0 lead in the opening quarter. The victory also snapped a 17-game losing streak for the Hornets, who picked up their first win since 2011.

- Thursday, October 11, was Jordan Giberti of the Gainesville football team. GGiberti helped the GHS defense hold its rival Buchholz to just 210 yards of total offense in a 26-14 win to extend the ‘Canes streak to five in a row in the series. The sophomore defensive end batted down a couple of passes at the line of scrimmage and put the game on ice with a 21-yard fumble return for a touchdown with 7:04 to play in the game.
