The Sonic Drive-In Player-of-the-Game for Thursday, Feb. 11, was Tyra Peterson of the Buchholz (Gainesville) girls’ basketball team.
Peterson helped lead a team effort defensively that held visiting Milton to just 12 first half points in a 37-21 win in an FHSAA Class 6A-Region 1 Quarterfinal.
The junior finished with eight points, including four of the Lady Bobcats’ eight points in the third quarter as Buchholz extended a 16-12 lead at the half to a 24-17 lead after three quarters.
Buchholz (15-4) will host Navarre in the second round of the Class 6A state playoffs on Tuesday, Feb. 16. The game will be broadcast (audio only) on “The Prep Zone.”
