The Sonic Drive-In Player-of-the-Game for Tuesday, March 10, was TJ Shay of the P.K. Yonge (Gainesville) baseball team.
Shay led an offensive slugfest as the Blue Wave defeated Eastside 12-0 in six innings to sweep the 2-game series against the Rams.
The junior went 3-for-4, including a double, scored a run, and drove in two runs for the Blue Wave (7-1). He had an RBI single in the first inning to give P.K. Yonge a 2-0 lead and added an RBI double in the fourth.
P.K. Yonge, which finished with 15 hits and stole 10 bases, will travel to Interlachen on Thursday.
Eastside, which has been battling injuries, dropped to 3-6. The Rams, who are seeking their first playoff appearance in 19 years, will travel to Bronson on Thursday.
