The Sonic Drive-In Player-of-the-Game for Tuesday, March 9, was Caden Kresak of the Buchholz (Gainesville) baseball team.
Kresak helped the Bobcats on the mound and at the plate as Buchholz defeated visiting Forest (Ocala), 9-1, in a Class 6A-District 2 game.
The senior tossed five innings and allowed only one run on two hits while walking only three and striking out nine.
Kresak, who was also 2-for-3 at the plate and scored what proved to be the winning run in the third inning, set the tone early. He struck out the first four batters he faced and six of the first nine.
Buchholz (4-1-1, 1-0), which finished with 10 hits in the game, travels to Forest tomorrow night at 7 p.m.
