GAINESVILLE (April 2) – Dallan “Deebo” Coleman, a 6-6 senior guard from West Nassau High School in Callahan has been named the 2021 Florida Dairy Farmers Mr. Basketball in a final round of voting by a statewide panel of high school basketball coaches and media representatives
The Georgia Tech University signee, who earlier this month was named the Class 4A Player-of-the-Year, averaged 24.7 points, 9.0 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 2.2 steals per game in leading his team to a 20-12 record and a spot in the Class 4A Final Four.
Coleman tallied 10 of the 21 first-place votes and 138 points to finish ahead of Class 6A POY
Tre Carroll of Charlotte, who had five first-place votes and 121 points.
Class 7A POY Mike James of Oak Ridge finished third (95), followed by Class 3A POY Emanuel Sharp of Bishop McLaughlin (69), Class 2A POY Aaron Jones of Evangelical Christian (42), Class 5A POY Tony Green of Naples (35) and Class 1A POY Joe Poyser of Wildwood (24).
The Florida Dairy Farmers High School Sports Awards program exemplifies Florida Dairy Farmers’ commitment to the state’s youth. These awards honor the state’s top athletes and coaches in all 30 FHSAA sanctioned sports. The program also emphasizes to young people the importance of keeping dairy products a primary part of their diet in their overall nutrition plan.
